Behold the child, by Nature's kindly law, Pleased with a rattle, tickled with a straw

In this question the querent (person asking the question) asked, "Will fertility treatments be successful?" I received and understood the question on 4:04 pm, EDT, March 13, 2002 in Washington, D.C. 38 N 55 77 W 03
In this chart Leo rises and it is Saturn hour. As Saturn is the mixed ruler of fire signs, the chart is radical and fit to be judged.
As 28 degrees of Leo rises, the situation is in its later stages and there is not much that the querent can do to alter it.
As Leo rises the Sun is the significator of the querent. The Sun is peregrine in the malefic 8th house.
Chart produced by Solar Fire 5
The co-significator of the querent is the Moon who is also peregrine, conjunct the 8th house and going to combustion.
The significator of children is the 5th house and its ruler, Saturn. Saturn is dignified by triplicity in the angular 10th house. The co-significator of children is the almuten of the 5th Venus, who is dignified by term, but in detriment in the 8th house.
The 10th house and its lord Venus represents the fertility treatment. This is quite appropriate as Venus is the natural ruler of the womb and associated with fertility. The fact that she is co-ruler of the 5th ties together the treatments and the potential children which helps validate the chart.
The Moon applies to a conjunction without reception with the Sun or, in other words, is going to combustion. Venus applies to a sextile without reception of Saturn.
The English astrologer William Lilly says, if Leo is in the Ascendant, "...she is not now or hardly after will be with Child." Christian Astrology 223. Lilly also says, "It is also a great signe of non conception or no capacity to conceive, when the Moon is unfortunate. " Christian Astrology page 224.
We note that the querent is in a weak position being peregrine and in the 8th, this shows inability to achieve her desire. The Sun also tends towards barrenness, but is in a prolific sign, Pisces. Christian Astrology page 565.
The sign on the 5th Capricorn inclines towards barrenness. Christian Astrology page 565. Saturn, ruler of the 5th is a barren planet, though he is fairly dignified and in an angular house. Christian Astrology page 565. The co-ruler of the 5th is Venus, a prolific planet, but she is afflicted by being in detriment in the 8th house. Venus also represents the fertility treatments which is appropriate because she is the natural ruler of the womb. Christian Astrology page 75.
The Moon is in Pisces, a prolific sign (with some dignity, as the mixed ruler of water signs) but she is afflicted by being combust and conjunct the 8th house cusp.
Jupiter in 11th, dignified by exaltation is a positive indication as is the fact that Cancer is on the cusp of the 11th.
Despite a few positive signs, the chart is fairly negative. The significators of the querent are weak. I particularly do not like the emphasis on the 8th house which is traditionally associated with death rather than birth. Despite some positive factors associated with the fertility treatment, the ruler of the 10th, Venus is afflicted. While a positive outcome is not impossible, the chart is rather negative.
