Hermes on the 15 fixed stars says that the Pleiades talisman, "...protects the light of the eyes, gathers daimons and spirits of the dead to come and speak and makes [the wearer] to know of secret and hidden things." The Renaissance mage, Cornelius Agrippa says, "Under the constellation of Pleiades,they made the image of a little Virgin, or the Figure of a Lamp; its reported to increase the light of the eyes, to assemble Spirits,to raise Winds, to reveal secret and hidden things" Three Books of Occult Philosophy, Bk II, ch 47. On the front of the Pleiades talisman which you can see above to right is a beautiful image by Nigel Jackson, the talented artist/mage from Agrippa's description of the image of the Pleaides, a woman with a lamp. Arranged around the woman are the seven stars of the Pleiades cluster in their actual astronomical arrangement with their size according to their magnitude. On the back is the sigil of the Pleiades from Agrippa's Three Books of Occult Philosophy and a quote from Job 38:31 "Canst thou bind the beautiful Pleiades...?" Agrippa discusses the construction of rings for fixed stars using astrological magic and his instructions are applicable to talismans as well, "...when any star ascends fortunately, with the fortunate aspect or conjunction of the Moon...not omitting the inscriptions of images, names and characters, also the proper suffumigations..." Following these instructions the talismans were created at a precisely elected time, 9:42 pm MDT, September 19, 2008 for Boulder, Colorado the location of Wade, our mage/jeweler. The Pleiades cluster rises and the Moon applies to conjoin the Ascendant and the Pleiades. I am pleased to offer beautiful silver talismans of Pleiades. They are about an 1.25 inches (30 mm) in diameter with about 3/4 of an ounce (20 grams) of silver. After being cast at the elected time, the talismans were then consecrated and a leather cord added. Each talisman comes with a color Nigel Jackson image of the Pleiades for mediation and visualization as well as full consecration and ritual instructions. Only a very few of these talismans were made. They are unique and the timing of their election can never be replicated. These are not the usual mass produced pewter "talismans" but made from pure sterling silver. They were carefully cast to the specifications in our original sources at the exact time most auspicious for the Pleiades. These talismans are wonderful examples of the ancient art of astrological magic, authentically and beautifully made!
