The current chart is an
astrological talisman of the planet
Mercury. While many of our traditional sources lay
out specific astrological conditions for talismans, we can also rely on general
principles and create unique, but still powerful talismans.
The Renaissance mage
Cornelius Agrippa advises,
Every natural vertue doth work things far more wonderful when it is not onely
compounded of a natural proportion, but also is informed by a choice observation
of the Celestials opportune to this (viz. when the Celestial power is most strong
to that effect which we desire, and also helpt by many Celestials) by subjecting
inferiors to the Celestials, as proper females to be made fruitful by their males.
Also in every work there are to be observed, the situation, motion, and aspect of
the Stars, and Planets, in Signs and Degrees, and how all these stand in reference
to the length and latitude of the Climate; for by this are varyed the qualities of
the angles, which the rays of Celestial bodies upon the figure of the thing describe,
according to which Celestial vertues are infused.
So when thou art working any thing which belongs to any Planet,
thou must place it in its dignities, fortunate, and powerful, and
ruling in the day, hour, and in the Figure of the Heaven. Neither shalt
thou expect the signification of the work to be powerful, but also thou
must observe the Moon opportunely directed to this; for thou shalt do
nothing without the assistance of the Moon:
And if thou hast more patterns of thy work, observe them all being most powerful,
and looking upon one the other with a friendly aspect: and if thou canst not
have such aspects, it will be convenient at least that thou take them angular.

The time chosen for
the election is February 19, 2004 at 6:31 am EST in Cleveland Park, a neighborhood
of Washington, D.C. 38 N 56, 77 W 03. At this time 19 Aquarius rises.
Mercury is conjunct the Ascendant and is dignified by
triplicity, as the night ruler of air, and by face, for a quite respectable +4. It
is the day of Mercury.
The Moon applies to conjoin Mercury and is also
conjunct the Ascendant.
This would be an appropriate talismans for one seeking
deep knowledge and occult philosophy. Mercury rules philosophers, "all literate men" and
astrologers. William Lilly, Christian Astrology, page 78.
Saturn was also associated with
contemplation and occult philosophy. Marsilio Ficino, the
Renaissance philosopher, says that Saturn,
"...the highest of the planets, carries the
investigator to the highest subjects. From this come original philosophers,
especially when their soul, hereby called away from external movements and its own
body, is made in the highest degree both a neighbor to the divine and an instrument to
the divine.
Three Books on Life, Bk. I, ch. 6.
Johannes Schoener, the 16th century German astrologer,
says that, "If Mercury is in the domicile [sign] of Saturn...in his own proper
disposition, not vitiated by other planets, the native will come to be of the best
intellect, and [will have] a profound counsel in matters; having a secretive mind
he will understand things most completely." On the Judgement of Nativities,
Bk I, ch. 7.
In addition, Agrippa notes that Mercury talismans,
"...[render] the bearer thereof gratefull, and fortunate to do what he pleaseth:
it bringeth gain, and prevents poverty, conduceth to memory, understanding,
and divination, and to the understanding of occult things by dreams..."

I am pleased to offer
beautiful gemstone talismans of Mercury made from agate,
which Agrippa says is ruled by Mercury.
Three Books of Occult Philosophy Book I, Chapter 29.
I will be making two tree agate
and two lace agate Mercury talismans.
The agate gemstones will be
inscribed with an appropriate Mercurial image. The agate is in a
cabochon cut, 18 x 25 mm, approximately 1 inch by a half inch.
After being inscribed at the proper time,
the agate cabochon is then mounted and strung on
a leather cord. Each talisman comes with a color Nigel Jackson image of
Mercury for mediation and visualization as well as full consecration and ritual
instructions.
As of February 5, 2004 the agate Mercury in Aquarius
rising talismans are sold out! See Currently
Available Talismans for other talismans.

Here is feedback from a client regarding this talisman,
"Two weeks ago I performed the ritual like you described it in the mail.
I've dreamed more than usual and good ideas just have been sprouting
out of my mind. I took part in a graphic design competition and my artwork passed the
first round. Then I was also invited to be a member of the MTD Gala staff
which is a festival where students from our professional school can send
in their works like animations, video films, etc.
Besides, I wrote new poems in my free time.
Apart from the mercurial effects I wanted to tell you that I am very content
with this beautiful talisman."
